Worth the Wait

Message Series: Sept 2025

Patience is something that we all have struggled with from time to time, especially waiting on God. Therefore, the artwork for this series leaned into the metaphor of fishing to illustrate this idea.

Fishing requires patience… drop the line in the water and wait for a bite… and you don’t know what the outcome might be.

Inspiration

Retro / Vintage Americana

Old fishing clubs, national park signage, and tackle box stickers.

Hand-drawn & Engraving-inspired

Fish, lures, and icons often mimic woodcut, etching, or line-art illustration, giving a tactile, crafted feel.

Simplified Iconography

Clean but characterful, nothing overly detailed or polished, making it feel more authentic.

Distressed / Aged Textures

Subtle grain, ink bleed, or wear to simulate old print materials.

Rugged, outdoorsy, nostalgic

The iconic bobber is the main focal point in this piece, but my favorite key detail is the fishing line being intertwined with the “O”. By creating depth and a bit of realism to the way the hair-thin fishing line floats in the air, the bobber comes to life as you envision the ripples moving out in concentric circles, drawing the eye through the whole scene.

Have you ever felt stuck or tired of waiting? This 3-week series we’re flipping the script on waiting to discover why God’s delays are usually where he does some of his best work.

Follow the story through our opening video to introduce the message:

“On the other side of discomfort and uncertainty is something that might just be worth the wait.”
