The story of Easter has been told many times. This year, I had the honor and privilege to partner with Browns Bridge Church to help bring the story of Easter come to life through my most beloved art form of printmaking.
Behind the Process
Ideation to Execution
I was commissioned to make this piece, depicting a nature scene: a meadow full of wildflowers with birds flying over, intentional white space in the middle, giving the feeling of newness and restoration.
Concept
Have you ever stood at the edge of a path and wondered where it might lead? There’s an ancient story about a path like that. Paused at a stone, sealed shut. And then, when no one expected it, the path was cleared for everyone.
Theme
On Easter, we celebrate that story of hope, of light breaking through at dawn to find us, even when we feel most lost. It’s an invitation to take a step toward amazing grace.
Final touches
After carving and printing on fine art paper (Rives BFK), I scanned it and made some edits digitally to fit the screens it would be displayed on in the church’s auditorium, as well as web and social formats for promotional content.
