The story of Easter has been told many times. This year, I had the honor and privilege to partner with Browns Bridge Church to help bring the story of Easter come to life through my most beloved art form of printmaking.
Behind the Process
Concept
I was commissioned to make this piece, depicting a nature scene: a meadow full of wildflowers with birds flying over, a worn path that makes one wonder where it might lead, and intentional white space in the middle, giving the feeling of newness and restoration.
Execution
I hand-carved this drawing onto a 12×18 block of linoleum, rolled it up with ink, and printed it on fine art paper using my press. Then, I scanned it in to preserve the true textures and added the type to create the full Key Art to be displayed on in the church’s auditorium, as well as web and social formats for promotional content.
